Bone Disease

What is Bone Disease?

Bone disease involves the deterioration of the skeletal system, leading to fragile bones prone to fractures. Dr. Domenicini emphasizes that maintaining bone health is crucial at all ages, not just during youth.

Types of Bone Disease

  • Osteoporosis
  • Paget’s Disease
  • Osteogenesis Imperfecta
  • Bone Cancers
  • Rickets
  • Osteomalacia
  • Acromegaly
  • Fibrous Dysplasia

Our Focus on Osteoporosis

At our clinic, we address osteoporosis by balancing new bone formation and old bone resorption to prevent decreased bone density and fractures. We offer a multifaceted approach, including calcium and vitamin D-rich dietary recommendations, personalized weight-bearing and muscle-strengthening exercises, and lifestyle changes like quitting smoking and limiting alcohol. Additionally, we provide medications to slow bone resorption and promote bone formation, helping maintain bone density and reduce fracture risk.

However, we are limited in treating Medicare patients if their insurance requires a buy-and-bill approach, which we cannot offer. Despite this, we are dedicated to finding all possible options to ensure our patients receive the best care for their bone health, aiming to maintain strong bones and improve quality of life at every stage.
